SCREENING FOR DEAFNESS IN NEWBORN

Screening for hearing problems in newborns is done to identify infants with hearing loss, either permanent or temporary. Screening is done by measuring the ability of the infant to hear a series of standardized sounds presented at different pitches and volumes. The most common screening techniques, including the auditory brainstem response (ABR), otoacoustic emissions (OAE), and behavioural observation, may also incorporate the BERA test for a comprehensive evaluation.

Ear surgery is a 2 hours procedure. You can return home the next day after surgery and will be able to return to work within 1-2 days.

One of the ways to treat eardrum rupture is through a simple endoscopic procedure. Unlike traditional surgery, this procedure is minimally invasive and doesn't require major incisions or removal of tissue.

While you are healing, it's important to avoid getting water in your ear. You will also need to avoid heavy lifting, strenuous exercise, and other activities that may put pressure on your eardrum

Bandaging is not required after Endoscopic Ear Surgery.

Infection doesn't recur in 99% of patients after the surgery.
